High Speed Data Acquisition System for Optical Coherence Tomography
نویسندگان
چکیده
Data acquisition systems currently utilized for optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging have limited data acquisition rates that hinder high speed systems such as the clinical OCT system. Recently, advances in OCT technology have enabled the imaging of the tissue functional state in addition to the imaging of tissue microstructure. These functional imaging techniques such as Doppler OCT and Spectroscopic OCT require the digitization of the full interferometric fringe pattern instead of digitizing just the demodulated fringe pattern envelopes. Because the current data acquisition rates are not sufficient to acauire the full fringe pattern, the development of a high-speed data acquisition system for OCT signal measurement is required to study Doppler and Spectroscopic OCT effects. In this project, we propose to develop a PCbased high-speed data acquisition system that is capable of being used in a variety of OCT systems and a number of OCT delivery devices. The development of this high-speed data acquisition system will enable a number of OCT projects, in both clinical and laboratory settings, to be investigated. Thesis supervisor: Professor James G. We demonstrate that tissue structure, birefringence, and blood flow can be imaged simultaneously by use of techniques of polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography and phase-resolved optical Doppler tomography. An efficient data-acquisition procedure is implemented that optimizes the concurrent processing and display of all three image types. Images of in vivo human skin acquired with ...

The development of techniques for high-speed image acquisition in optical coherence tomography (OCT) systems is essential for suppressing motion artifacts when one is imaging living systems. We describe a new OCT system for performing micrometer-scale, cross-sectional optical imaging at four images/s. To achieve OCT image-acquisition times of less than 1 s, we use a piezoelectric fiber stretche...

INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES The development of second-generation optical coherence tomography (i.e. Fourier domain optical coherence tomography, FD-OCT) has made it possible to perform high speed pullbacks during image acquisition without the need for transient occlusion of the coronary artery. The objective of this study was to assess the reproducibility of FD-OCT systems for characterizing pl...

We developed a high-speed linear detection time-domain optical coherence tomography (OCT) technique that detected a reflective grating-generated spatial optical delay in the reference arm using a line scan camera during probe-beam scanning. Using an InGaAs line scan camera (512 pixels) operating at 47,000 lines/s, the calculation of the absolute value of the difference between two sequential li...
